ASUU and NASU shut out LASU VC and students

ASUU and NASU shut out LASU VC and students thereby stopping the Vice chancellor and students from entering the premises.

This started in the early hours of today, Monday in the Lagos State University, Ojo Campus, when members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities, NASU, stopped the Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof Olanrewaju Fagboun and students from entering the university

9jatalkative News reports that this issue was as a result of the earlier protest made by the union members over non-payment of the increase in salaries

Recall that the increased salaries was promised by the Lagos State Government a few months ago which has not been fulfilled

Recall that school resumption was announced by of Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu for tertiary institutions (Universities) in the state to reopen on September 14, 2020.

This is for students in 300 and 400 levels who were instructed to resume Monday, with other members of staff that had been on lockdown as a result of ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in the country
