Ebonyi Assembly suspends lawmaker
The Ebonyi State House of Assembly has issued indefinite suspension to its member representing Ebonyi North West Constituency, Hon. Victor Aleke, over alleged misconduct.
Aleke was suspended following a motion of urgent public importance moved by the House leader, Victor Chukwu, and seconded by the member representing Ohaukwu North, Chinedu Awoh.
Chukwu also moved a motion for the suspension of the executive chairman of Ohaukwu Local Government Area, Mr Clement Odah following the findings of the Ad-hoc Committee set up by the House to investigate the financial activities of Ohaukwu council.
While the suspension of Aleke was upheld, Speaker of the House Francis Nwifuru stepped down the suspension of Odah.
