Federal Government Approves Reopening of Schools
The Federal Government Presidential Taskforce on Covid-19 (PTF) Approves Reopening of Schools.
The Presidential Taskforce on Covid-19(PTF) on Monday announced the extended phase two of eased lockdown for four weeks effective from tomorrow June 30 to July 27.
However there were slight modifications to phase two of eased lockdown which include reopening of schools only for classes with terminal exams (Primary 6, JS1 and SS3), interstate movement outside curfew hours (10 pm to 4 am), and resumption of local flights as soon as practicable in line with local and international guidelines.
Students expected to resume are those In Primary education Category (Primary 6 specifically) who are to write common entrance examination as well as the Junior Secondary School 3 students and Senior Secondary School 3 students who will be writing their SSCE examination(Senior Secondary Certificate of Education)
The Presidential Taskforce Chairman further stated that those who didn’t fall in these categories of students to resume are not allowed to resume.
