FG declares Monday and Tuesday public holidays

FG declares Monday and Tuesday public holidays as the Ramadan fasting period comes to a close for the Muslim community in Nigeria

This was made known by Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, who made the announcement on behalf of the Federal Government in Abuja.

Rauf Aregbesola commended the Muslim community in Nigeria for finishing up the Ramadan fasting which started some weeks ago, 9jatalkative reports

In a statement by the Director of Press in the Ministry, Mohammed Manga which confirmed the holidays which is coming up on Monday and Tuesday

9jatalkative reports that Aregbesola called on the Muslim community to keep living a good life which speaks high volumes of the Muslim religion

Many people in the Muslim community in Nigeria have been calling for a temporary lift of the lockdown to enable them celebrate the end of Ramadan

This request has not been granted due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic in the country although FG declares Monday and Tuesday as holidays

Although Adamawa state lifted the ban on religious gatherings as a result of a slight improvement in coronavirus pandemic in the state

Borno State also joined Adamawa state in lifting the coronavirus ban on religious and social gatherings albeit with strict conditions
