Early morning rain accompanied with thunderstorm and lightening strikes three FRSC officials in Ilese Ogun state dead.
Three FRSC officials have been pronounced dead after they were struck by lightning in Ogun State.
The tragic event occured early on Wednesday, June 17, around 10 am in the ancient town of Ilese, near Ijebu -Ode, in Ijebu North-East local government area of Ogun State.
The incident, according to Daily Sun, occurred following a light rain and accompanied by the lightening which waltzed into the FRSC’s office, while officials were preparing for the early morning parade within the vicinity of their office located at the old Toll Gate.
Till this moment no official statement has been released by the FRSC to confirm or deny the incident, but a senior official within the Ogun Sector Command of Corps, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, disclosed that about twelve officials were inside the office when then lightening struck the three officials dead.
It, was however, gathered that men of the State’s Special Security Outfit code named “OP MESA”, have taken over security of the entire area, chasing away onlookers from the scene and preventing journalists from taking pictures.
Traditional worshipers otherwise known as Sango adherents have joined other FRSC officials at the scene of the incident in Ilese Ijebu in a bid to perform some traditional rites on the corpses before they are released to government officials for burial.
