Manchester City Player Ilkay Gundogan test Positive for the deadly coronavirus following the latest round of testing.
The midfielder is observing a 10-day period of self-isolation in accordance with Premier League and UK Government protocol on qquarantine as stated by Manchester city in their official website.
Their Statement read:
“Manchester City FC can confirm that Ilkay Gundogan has tested positive for COVID-19.
Ilkay is now observing a 10-day period of self-isolation in accordance with Premier League and UK Government protocol on quarantine.
Everyone at the Club wishes Ilkay a speedy recovery.”
The German Player is the third member of Pep Guardiola’s squad to test positive for the virus, following winger Riyad Mahrez and defender Aymeric Laporte.
Manchester City is yet to kick-start their 2020/21 Premier League season. This is because of their involvement in the quarter-final stage of the Champions League last season.
Their opening league fixture holds today with an away trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
