But now the Manchester United manager has now confirmed that the club is set to extend the loan deal for Odion Ighalo

The red devils have come to an agreement to extend Odion Ighalo loan from Shanghai Shenhua until January 31, 2021 as confirmed today by the manager

Odion Ighalo was supposed to leave Manchester United on may 31, 2020 but he will now remain with the Reds until 31 January 2021 to continue his career in England

The Nigerian striker made very impressive perfomances after joining the club in January as a deadline day signing by the club

Odion Ighalo was in England playing for Premier League side Watford and impressed in his eight appearances for Manchester United before the outbreak of coronavirus

The outbreak of coronavirus in England led to the postponement of football in order to prevent the further spread of the virus

Odion Ighalo scored four goals in three starts and the club were keen to extend his loan until the end of the current loan deal he currently is on at Manchester United

Although there have been no public discussions to keep the 30-year-old at the club on a permanent basis despite calls for it by the fans

The Manchester United fans remain keen on the permanent deal announcement following the positive perfomances by the Nigerian striker, Odion Ighalo

The Manchester United manager Old Gunner solskjaer has been keen from the start to have odion Ighalo in his squad for the end of the season.

Manchester United manager, Ole Gunner Solskjaer revealed that Manchester United extend Ighalo loan deal saying;

“It’s been a dream for him and hopefully he can finish off what he started”

“And what he started with us will be completed with him winning a trophy for us”

Odion Ighalo current deal at Shanghai Shenhua runs out in December 2022 and he will be expected to sign a contract offer until the end of 2024

The deal that the Nigerian striker, Odion Ighalo is set to sign with the Chinese club is reportedly worth £400,000 a week if he signs

The Nigerian striker will now miss the majority of the 2020 Chinese Super League season, which is scheduled to begin in June.

The Chinese club had an original stance which was that they would only agree to extend his loan if an obligation to buy was included into the deal for Odion Ighalo

Reporters estimate that odion Ighalo is likely to cost the red devils at least 20m euros in order to complete a deal for the striker from Nigeria
