9jatalkative reports that Nigeria will go into recession if Coronavirus continues says finance Minister, Zaina Ahmed, who revealed the country will go into recession if the Coronavirus pandemic persists longer than six months.

The minister, Zaina Ahmed revealed this information during an interview on Channels TV which is hosted by the news channel.

This update by the finance minister have also been confirmed by Lailasnews as the minister reveals the consequence of the virus

The minister of finance while revealing that Niger Nigeria will go into recession if the coronavirus lasts more than six months, said:

“We are hopeful that this pandemic will be limited in time. If it is an average of three months, we should be able to close the year with positive growth.

But if it goes longer than six months, one year, we will go into recession”

As at today the nigerian center for disease control, NCDC announced that Nigeria has 81 total confirmed cases of the dreaded Coronavirus (COVID-19) in several states all over Nigeria

And as reported by 9jatalkative, the numbers have been on the rise since the COVID-19 first confirmed case was discovered by the nigerian center for disease control, NCDC

The virus has now been confirmed in over five states in Nigeria leading cases are confirmed in Lagos and Abuja respectively

There have only been 3 recoveries recorded but the Lagos government have revealed that 6 more patients have recovered from COVID-19

So the minister saying that Nigeria will go into recession if Coronavirus continues means that the coronavirus outbreak is seriously affecting the economy of the country
