NYSC closes orientation camps due to coronavirus outbreak since the confirmation of five new cases in the country by the government today
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) on Wednesday morning shut down all orientation camps nationwide over fears of the coronavirus.
The Batch A corps members began their orientation on 10th March and were expected to be in their camps for 21 days
It is now reported that the youth corpers will be getting their letters posting them to their places of primary assignment, just one week after camping
The coronavirus has so far killed over 7000 persons globally and three cases have been confirmed in Nigeria, although no death has been recorded in the country.
Corps members in the camps were, however, shocked when they were told in the middle of the night that the camps had closed
The statement also revealed that they were all to receive their letters to places of primary assignment
The youth corps members said they were told that the development was put in place due to the outbreak of coronavirus in the country
