Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki decamps from APC following his disqualification from contesting in the Edo state primary elections

The current Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC), 9jatalkative can confirm.

Obaseki announced his resignation after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja earlier today, June 16, 2020

Recall that the governor was disqualified by the APC National Working Committee (NWC) from recontesting in the coming governorship election on June 22 2020

Godwin Obaseki also revealed he would take a decision on his membership of the APC after meeting with the president of Nigeria

He also said that the APC National chairman, Adams Oshiomhole was the reason behind him being disqualified from the primary elections

The Governor of Edo state also met with the Governor of rivers state, Governor Nyesom Wike in wake of his disqualification from the coming Edo elections

Their meeting raised eyebrows and led many Nigerians to suspect that the Edo state governor was set to decamp from APC

This has now happened as today the Governor of Edo state, Godwin Obaseki announced that he will be resigning from the all progressives Congress, APC
