Oyo state govt cancels COVID-19 curfew

The Oyo State Government has canceled COVID-19 curfew as there has been decrease in the amount of new cases.

The curfew was put in place to curb the spread of COVID-19. There had been a 10pm to 4am curfew in place in Oyo state.

The Chief Press Secretary to Governor Makinde, Taiwo Adisa, announced the cancelation of the curfew stating that the state government decided to abolish the curfew after series of reviews.

The decision to abolish the curfew was premised on the need to reduce the burden on business owners in the state who have been adversely affected by the curfew.

According to the Government, the Covid-19 cases were declining but it however warned residents of the state not to ignore the guidelines on the prevention of the virus, including washing of hands, social distancing and use of nose masks.
