Ozil left from Arsenal Premier league Squad

Mesut Ozil has been left out of Arsenal’s 25 man premier league squad. The squad list had to be submitted today’s afternoon.

The former Real Madrid man and German International was also axed from their Europa league squad. This indirectly means he would not be able to be fielded by Arsenal till February.

It is, however, likely that he wouldn’t feature for the Gunners again.

Premier league rules states that Arsenal had to submit their 25 man squad with a maximum of 17 non league grown players over the age of 21 (of which Arsenal has 19 including Mesut Ozil).

The playmaker, who is Arsenal’s highest earning player with £350,000 per week, was not alone in these situations however. His Greek teammate, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, has also been left out of the squad for both the premier league and Europa league.

Arsenal boss, Mikel Arterta said about the decision.

I wanted to tell them face to face.

I explained the reason why and it was really difficult for me to tell them that, but this is the restriction and rules and they have to respect that decision and try to train the best possible way, help the team how they can in that moment and see what happens
