Scarface actor Geno Silva dies at 72 after dementia battle. Geno Silva died on the 9th of may in his home as a result of complications from frontotemporal degeneration, a form of dementia which is generally a group of brain disorders caused by degeneration of the frontal and/or temporal lobes of the brain. The news of his demise was made known by his family and was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter. Geno Silva was an American actor, Born in 1948. He is best known for his role in Luis Valdez''s "Zoot Suit" (1981), Robert Towne''s "Tequila Sunrise" (1988), Steven Spielberg''s "Amistad" and "The Lost World: Jurassic Park" (both released in 1997), David Lynch''s "Mulholland Drive" (2001) and F. Gary Gray''s "A Man Apart" (2003). He was also featured in Television shows in episodes of “Miami Vice, Macgyver, Hill Street Blues, Fantasy Island and Star Trek: Enterprise” . Silva is still most remembered for playing the silent assassin The Skull, who murders Al Pacino''s Tony Montana in "Scarface". In the scene, The Skull shoots down Al Pacino’s protagonist Tony Montana with a powerful shotgun blast to the back, killing the druglord and causing him to fall into the fountain below. https://youtu.be/AU5xgpuFfwI Silvaʼs friend John Ortiz who he appeared on stage with him in 1994’s “The Merchant of Venice” , and again five years later in the off-Broadway play Sueno shared a tribute to Silva on Facebook. Thus he said: “He was generous, passionate, bold, strong, intelligent, joyful with a regally imposing physical presence which never shut down his magnetic curiosity or spirituality. He was proud of his roots, and even prouder of his friends and family.”; ‘I loved having meals and conversations with him that lasted for hours and hours. I loved his stories.” He added Silva is survived by his wife, sister, daughter and two grandchildren.
