Following the recent unrest in Oyigbo community and other parts of Rivers State, Gov. Wike declares IPOB leader wanted and places N50m bounty on him
In a state-wide broadcast reinforcing the proscription of IPOB group in Rivers State, Wike pointed out that the said group was classified a terrorist group in 2017 by the Federal High court
He attributed the violence and destruction at Oyigbo local government and some other areas of portharcourt to the IPOB
This wicked,evil and audacious action resulted in the unnecessary loss of scores of lives including soldiers and police officers, and the destruction of both public and private properties
A complete ban of IPOB activities was reinforced, stating clearly that their activities were no longer allowed in River State and security agencies were directed to ensure the order is obeyed
On the suspected IPOB leader he said:
Mr Stanley Mgbere from Onne is hereby declared wanted for leading members of the banned IPOB to cause the recent violence and destruction of lives and property Onne
A random of N50,000,000.00 will be given to any person with useful information that would lead to the arrest and prosecution of the said Mr. Stanley Mgbere
